Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odisha government, under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Mohan Charan Majhi, has launched the Odisha Electronics Component Manufacturing Policy-2025. The policy aims to transform Odisha into a leading electronics manufacturing hub while creating high-skilled employment opportunities.
The initiative seeks to reduce India’s reliance on imported electronic components and aligns closely with the national “Make in India” vision.
Key Features of the Policy :
- Capital Subsidies: Investors can avail 50% subsidy for large-scale projects or opt for a matching subsidy with turnover-linked incentives.
- Infrastructure Support: Land allocation and rental assistance to ease setup costs.
- Power Benefits: Ten-year exemption from electricity duty and reimbursement of power tariffs.
- Mega Project Incentives: Projects investing over ₹500 crore or generating more than 1,000 jobs receive tailored concessions.
The policy is designed to attract both domestic and global investors and boost the state’s electronics ecosystem.
Integration with National Scheme :
The policy complements the Electronics Component Manufacturing Scheme (ECMS) 2025, approved by the Union Cabinet under Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi. The ECMS addresses the heavy import dependence in India’s electronics sector and encourages the production of components like resistors, capacitors, and inductors.
By fostering domestic manufacturing, enhancing technological capabilities, and integrating with global value chains, the ECMS aims to strengthen India’s electronics ecosystem.
Odisha’s Vision :
Through this dual approach, Odisha is positioning itself as a self-reliant electronics hub, driving investment, creating jobs, and contributing significantly to India’s electronics manufacturing sector.
