Bhubaneswar, Odisha : A state-level awareness and sensitization workshop on “User Experience (UX) and Design Systems” was held today at the Lok Seva Bhawan Convention Centre, Bhubaneswar, aiming to make government digital services more citizen-centric, accessible, and standardized.
Chief Guest Shri Vishal Kumar Dev, Principal Secretary of Electronics & IT and Energy Departments, stressed that “citizens’ needs must remain at the core of digital service design, ensuring the creation of smooth, inclusive platforms.”
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Pradeep Kumar Rout, Special Secretary, Electronics & IT Department, said the initiative sought to raise awareness about User-Centric Design and Design Systems to make e-governance platforms more intuitive, user-friendly, and easy to access.
The workshop featured five thematic sessions covering the fundamentals of UX and interface design, accessibility guidelines for digital platforms, national and state-level design systems, user feedback & usability testing, and continuous improvement processes for digital services.
Participants engaged in group discussions, collaborative activities, and experience sharing to build practical skills. The event concluded with a call for all departments to adopt citizen-first design principles to make digital services more effective and universally accessible.
Delivering the vote of thanks, Dr. Ashok Kumar Hota, Deputy Director General, NIC & State Informatics Officer, appreciated the collaborative efforts and urged continued focus on improving user experiences in public service delivery.
