Bhubaneswar, Odisha :The Odisha Notary Appointment 2025 process is set to begin soon, aiming to streamline legal services across the state. The government plans to launch an online database of notaries and lawyers, along with a dedicated web portal and mobile app, to simplify applications and improve accessibility for citizens and legal professionals.
At a high-level meeting chaired by Law, Works and Excise Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, officials discussed the creation of a dedicated web portal where all notaries and lawyers across the state will be registered. The same platform will also allow new applicants to apply for notary appointments.
The Minister directed officials to ensure that notaries regularly submit details of their work through the portal, strengthening accountability and transparency. To enhance accessibility, he also advised the development of a mobile app, making the system user-friendly for citizens and legal professionals.
Senior officials present at the meeting included Principal Secretary of the Law Department Manas Ranjan Barik, Additional Secretaries Shib Prasad Mohapatra and Arun Kumar Sahu, and Joint Secretary Anshuman Mohanty.
According to the Minister, notaries and lawyers play a crucial role in ensuring smooth and citizen-friendly legal processes, and digitization will further simplify public access to legal services in Odisha.
