Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Former Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, took to his X handle to congratulate Odisha players Amit Rohidas, Shilanand Lakra, and Nilam Sanjeep Xess for their selection in the Indian National Team for the Hero Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025. He also extended his best wishes to Jyoti Chhatri and Sunelita Toppo, who have been selected for the Indian Women’s Team for the Women’s Asia Cup 2025 in Hangzhou, China.
The Hero Asia Cup Rajgir, Bihar 2025 Trophy Tour recently made a stop in Bhubaneswar, with the iconic Kalinga Stadium hosting the continental event. The occasion was attended by BK Swain, Additional Secretary, Department of Sports and Youth Services (DSYS), Ashok Kumar Panda, Additional Secretary, Government of Odisha, Dr. Dilip Tirkey, President of Hockey India, and several other officials from DSYS.
Patnaik praised the dedication and hard work of the players, noting their achievements as a matter of pride for the state. He wished the men’s and women’s teams all the best for their upcoming tournaments, emphasizing the importance of representing India on the international stage.
