Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odisha government has sought detailed information from all departments regarding the number of inefficient officers currently in service and how many among them have been granted compulsory retirement. A directive in this regard has been issued by the Chief Secretary’s Office, asking all departments to submit relevant data by August 7.
The move aims to evaluate the performance and conduct of officers and employees across departments. A thorough review will be carried out to identify those failing to discharge their duties in accordance with government norms.
As per a circular issued by the General Administration & Public Grievance Department on September 24, 2019, officers deemed inefficient or unfit for service may be compulsorily retired.
The Chief Secretary’s Office stated that only those officials whose service records reflect poor performance or inability to meet official standards will be considered for such action. This exercise is part of the government’s ongoing efforts to ensure accountability and improve administrative efficiency.
