Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odisha Government organized its 11th State-Level Job Fair on Monday, where Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi handed over appointment letters to 1,686 youths across seven departments. The event added fresh momentum to the state’s employment drive, which has already created over one lakh jobs in just 15 months.
Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi addressed the recruits and congratulated them on beginning their careers in government service. He reminded them that a government job not only ensures livelihood security but also provides an opportunity to serve society. “We promised jobs, and we are delivering them. Our government will fill up all vacant posts within five years. I urge every recruit to work honestly, stay away from corruption, and make integrity part of the work culture. Your dedication will bring you satisfaction and also earn you the blessings of the people,” the Chief Minister said.
He also highlighted that the government has so far provided 30,032 government jobs through 11 job fairs. By June 2026, another 40,000 posts will be filled. He stressed that every recruitment process follows a transparent and merit-based system to ensure fairness.
Deputy Chief Minister and Agriculture & Farmers’ Empowerment Minister Kanak Vardhan Singhdeo congratulated the recruits and reaffirmed the government’s target. “We aim to create 1.5 lakh jobs in five years. With over 30,000 appointments already made, we are determined to meet this promise. We will not leave any post vacant,” he assured.
Health and Family Welfare and Electronics & IT Minister delivered the welcome address. He said the government continues to focus on filling vacancies through job fairs to strengthen service delivery, especially in healthcare.
Law, Excise and Works Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Fisheries and Animal Resources Development Minister Gokulananda Mallik, and Skill Development and Technical Education Minister Sampad Chandra Swain also attended the event. Development Commissioner and Additional Chief Secretary Anu Garg joined them on the dais, adding weight to the occasion.
The programme demonstrated the government’s resolve to provide fair opportunities to the youth. It also showcased the administration’s seriousness in addressing unemployment with measurable results. With the Chief Minister personally handing over appointment letters, the event carried both symbolic and practical significance.
As the 11th Job Fair concluded, Odisha’s employment mission moved a step closer to its ambitious target. With consistent recruitment drives, the government continues to reinforce its promise of empowering youth and building a stronger, more developed state.
