Bhubaneswar, Odisha :The Odisha government rescue successfully brought 23 Odia travelers stranded in Nepal back to India. The travelers had visited Nepal for tourism and got stuck due to unexpected circumstances. The operation highlighted the Odisha government’s swift coordination with national and international authorities to ensure citizen safety.
The Odisha Department of Odia Language, Literature & Culture, under the Odisha State Secretariat, coordinated the rescue operation. They collaborated closely with Odisha Bhavan, New Delhi; the Ministry of External Affairs, Government of India; the Indian Embassy in Kathmandu, Nepal; and India’s Ambassador to Romania, Dr. Manoj Kumar Mahapatra. Authorities identified the situation and repatriated all 23 travelers within five hours.
The rescued travelers include Ajay Kumar Panda, Mamina Panda, Pankaj Kumar Dhal, Bharat Kumar Swain, Kamini Swain, Sharada Prasanna Kar, Rima Kar, Manoj Kumar Mishra, Suren Dalai, Biren Dalai, Parshuram Dalai, Purnachandra Dalai, Prasannajit Dalai, Brajkishor Mishra, Lopamudra Mishra, Shreyan Saurabh Mishra, Santosh Kumar Pani, Sasmita Pani, Bagmipriya Pani, Pramod Kumar Mishra, Rajashree Mishra, Vaishnav Sahu, and Suresh Chandra Sahu.
Officials confirmed that all 23 Odia travelers returned to India safely. The swift and coordinated response demonstrates the Odisha government’s commitment to protecting its citizens abroad and acting promptly in emergencies.
