Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today reviewed the fertilizer supply situation across Odisha. He confirmed that there is no shortage of fertilizer in the state, with allocations ensuring that the entire requirement of 9,55,000 metric tons for Kharif 2025 up to 30 September has been met by the Central Government.
During the review at Lokseva Bhavan, the CM instructed all District Collectors to closely monitor fertilizer distribution through PACS and LAMPCS, ensuring timely delivery to farmers. He emphasized that fertilizer should not be seized at inspection points but transferred to nearby PACS or LAMPCS centers for direct allocation to beneficiaries. Any complaints of malpractice or adulteration should be addressed immediately with strict enforcement measures.
The CM highlighted that Odisha currently has a stock of 11,66,733 metric tons, out of which 9,85,967 metric tons have already been distributed. District-wise and requirement-based distribution of different fertilizer grades must be strictly supervised, he added. Officials from MARKFED were also instructed to expedite supply wherever needed.
Majhi stressed the importance of promoting Crop Diversification and Integrated Farming Systems, encouraging farmers to cultivate oilseeds and pulses. The government has taken multiple initiatives to boost productivity and ensure that farmers in flood-affected areas receive all necessary support.
The meeting also involved a discussion with all district collectors through virtual conferencing, ensuring that every district has proper arrangements for fertilizer allocation. Key officials present included Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Bardhan Singhdeo, Cooperation Minister Pradeep Bal Samant, Chief Secretary Manoj Ahuja, Development Commissioner Anu Garg, and senior officials from Agriculture and Farmer Empowerment Department.
