Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Chief Secretary Shri Manoj Ahuja today reviewed the progress of the ongoing Digital Crop Survey-2025 in the state. He held the meeting at Lok Seva Bhawan with Principal Secretary Dr. Arvind Kumar Padhi, Director of Agriculture Shri Shubham Saxena, other Agriculture Department officials, and the Chief Executive Officer of OKAK. District Collectors joined virtually.
As of September 10th, the survey team has worked on 2,49,84,554 plots out of 2,94,72,374 identified plots in 30 districts, covering 85% of total plots. 28,867 surveyors are deployed, and they have surveyed 1,54,80,675 plots (52.53%), of which 49.30% received approval.
Officials reported irregularities, including incorrect photos, pre-crop-season photos, photos from one plot uploaded to another, repeated photos across multiple plots, and paddy cultivation shown in fallow land. The Chief Secretary ordered immediate corrections and instructed officials to take strict action against the surveyors, supervisors, and officers responsible.
Surveyors must complete the work by September 30th, and supervisors must ensure 100% verification. Block and district teams will audit survey data. The Principal Secretary stated that surveyors who submit fraudulent data will not receive payment, and supervisors and officers who fail to monitor properly will face action.
The Directorate is analyzing qualitative data, and officials will act against any fraudulent entries found in approved surveys. The Chief Secretary reviewed the progress with District Collectors and provided guidance, emphasizing regular monitoring and strict action against illegal practices.
He highlighted that the Digital Crop Survey helps farmers by providing accurate, data-driven support, securing crop insurance, and ensuring other benefits. The survey ensures proper land use and contributes to the economic and social development of the state and nation. The Chief Secretary urged all surveyors, supervisors, and officers to cooperate fully and achieve 100% accurate survey results.
