New Delhi : Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met with key Union Ministers in New Delhi today to strengthen Centre-State coordination and push for accelerated development in the state.
In separate meetings with Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Union Jal Shakti Minister C.R. Paatil, and Union Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy, the Chief Minister emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts to resolve longstanding issues and boost Odisha’s growth trajectory.

CM Majhi raised the critical issue of the Mahanadi River water dispute, reiterating Odisha’s concern over equitable water sharing with Chhattisgarh. He stressed the need for a mutually agreeable solution and highlighted his recent letter to the Chhattisgarh CM, urging an amicable resolution through dialogue. - With Steel Minister H.D. Kumaraswamy:
Talks revolved around boosting the steel sector in Odisha, particularly the expansion of the Rourkela Steel Plant, and attracting more industrial investments to create employment and economic opportunities across the state.
In parallel, Odisha Deputy Chief Minister Kanak Vardhan Singh Deo also met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi today. During the courtesy meeting, he offered Mahaprasad from Lord Jagannath as a token of reverence and divine blessings.
