The Odisha Legislative Assembly saw one of its briefest sittings on Friday, as the second day of the fourth session of the 17th Assembly was adjourned just four minutes after convening.
The House assembled briefly in the afternoon but was suspended until 4 PM following noisy disruptions. Speaker Surama Padhi called for the adjournment amid escalating commotion, effectively ending the day’s proceedings before any substantial discussion could take place.
This monsoon session is expected to be pivotal, with several key bills and developmental agendas on the table. However, repeated interruptions and political friction have significantly curtailed productive debate and legislative business in recent days.
