Bhubaneswar, Odisha: A shocking incident an Odia Youth from Tirtol area of Jagatsinghpur district has reportedly been abducted by terrorists in Sudan. The victim, identified as Adarsh Behera of Kotakana village under Tirtol police limits, had travelled to Sudan in 2022 to earn a living for his family. He was employed at a plastic manufacturing company. After working there peacefully for seven to eight months, a civil war erupted between the Sudanese government and the RSF rebel group.

The fierce conflict continued for nearly two years, during which Adarsh faced severe hardships. He often went without food for days during this period. During the conflict, he had appealed to the Government of India through a video message seeking rescue. However, no action could be taken. Recently, reports suggest that the RSF has taken full control of Sudan and abducted Adarsh Behera. He is the only Indian worker in that area. He is believed to be held captive in a forest.

A video of Adarsh in captivity has reportedly reached his family, leaving them terrified and in deep distress. His parents have made an emotional appeal to the Indian government to ensure his safe return. In an earlier video appeal, Adarsh had reportedly pleaded to rescue him. A disturbing video showing Adarsha in captivity has reached his family in Kotakana village, plunging them into fear. His family members again urged both the Odisha Government and the Ministry of External Affairs to safe return. The incident has become concern among local residents and migrant workers’.

We are unable to say anything as our son abducted by terrorist since last few month. As he is only person to earn and manage family we are in deep concern for the safety return of Adarsha. We appealed both state and union govt. please take immediate steps for the safety return of my son.
