Bhubaneswar : Odisha Administrative Service (OAS) officer Sarthak Saurabh Mahapatra appeared at the Bhubaneswar Mahila Police Station following a formal complaint filed by his wife, Archana Das.

According to police sources, Archana has accused Sarthak, his mother Kavita Manjari Rath, and sister Saina Sonali Mahapatra of mental harassment, verbal abuse, and postnatal neglect.

Archana claimed the couple had a lavish, traditional Hindu wedding in February 2024. Their child was born in May, but she alleges that shortly after childbirth, while she was still hospitalized, Sarthak left her and the newborn and has since cut off all contact for the past three months.

Despite her repeated efforts to reach out to him via phone, Sarthak allegedly remained unresponsive. Archana further stated that she faced emotional torture from her in-laws since the early days of marriage. The complaint names all three family members and highlights alleged domestic cruelty and neglect, calling for police action.

Emerging from the police station, Sarthak Saurabh addressed the media, refuting all allegations. He stated: “I am not Atul Subhash; I will fight till the end. Apart from my mother, I have no one. She and my sister need support. My wife never supported me or my family.”

He added that he stayed at the hospital for three days during his son’s birth and provided all necessary care. “I thought everything would become normal after the baby was born, but it didn’t. Supporting my mother has now been made to look like a crime,” he remarked.

Sarthak expressed confidence in the judiciary, saying: “I trust the court, and I have full faith in Lord Jagannath.”

Police officials confirmed that questioning is ongoing. The matter may proceed further based on evidence and Archana’s official statement.
