Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Upcoming Nuapada Bypoll has become a prestigious battle not only for all parties but nothing less than an acid test for Odisha PCC president Bhakta Charan Das. The Nuapada bypoll is a litmus test for Bhakta himself. He has made the strategy with senior leaders to attract the center of attraction in Western Odisha as well as across the state.

The political fight changed into a triangular fight between Congress, lotus, and conch party to capture Nuapada.

Das, a former Union Minister and Congress Heavyweight leader in Western Odisha, is having political experience of decades.

He has been well known in Western Odisha and tribal communities by raising issues like poverty, migration & irrigation.

But the upcoming Nuapada Bypoll challenge is a major task not only for him but also for the party. The Nuapada bypoll, a true litmus test for Bhakta, is not about winning but to prove the presence and importance of Congress in state politics.

Congress has been losing elections since the last two decades. In this context, the Nuapada bypoll is a topic of prestige. During BJD and BJP regimes, Congress’s strategy has become a much-discussed topic in the political landscape.

Das has a stronghold in Nuapada, Kalahandi, and other districts of western Odisha. Bhakta’s role in the upcoming bypoll will push the party to campaign aggressively with workers and leaders.

While winning the seat does not merely signify victory, it is to establish the popularity for the ruling BJP. For BJD, it is a matter of retaining the seat with Naveen’s Development vision.

However, BJD faces challenges with anti-incumbency sentiments on issues like migration, irrigation, and farmer problems. These will be deciding factors.

With this, Bhakta stands with experience and expectation for his grassroots leadership to mobilize support and change the political scenario.

Bhakta represents an old guard leader to connect youth voters with their aspirations.

While political parties are in high-decibel campaigns, Bhakta’s door-to-door campaign and meeting with ground leaders may make changes in Nuapada. Expert opinions suggest that the Nuapada bypoll will be a litmus test for Bhakta. If he manages a surprise victory, it could revive Congress in Odisha. This battle will decide not just the fate of his party but also his political legacy.

The result of the Nuapada Bypoll, a real litmus test for Bhakta, will write a new chapter in state politics.
