Nuapada By-Poll Poster War Heats Up Between BJP and BJD

Bhubaneswar, Odisha : As the Nuapada by-poll approaches, the political battlefield has shifted to the streets and roads, with parties deploying banners and flex boards to attract voters. Both BJP and BJD actively contest an intense poster war over the image of the late four-time MLA Rajendra Dholkia. Earlier, Orissa Mirror published a story with headlines highlighting the issue.

Both parties are claiming legacy and emotional connection with voters, emphasizing Rajendra’s grassroots leadership and long-standing contribution to Nuapada. Analysts expect this photo factor to play a decisive role in the bypoll, as voters emotionally connect with the late leader’s memory.

BJP Leverages Rajendra Dholkia’s Legacy Through Jay Dholkia

As Rajendra Dholkia’s son, Jay Dholkia, joined BJP, the party has capitalized on the opportunity to highlight Rajendra’s image in rallies and public meetings, presenting a message of development for Nuapada. BJP banners prominently feature Rajendra’s portrait at the center, flanked by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, and other senior leaders including J.P. Nadda, Amit Shah, Dharmendra Pradhan, Aswini Vaishnaw, and Manmohan Samal.

Jay Dholkia appeals for support, promising to fulfill the late MLA’s vision, while emphasizing BJP’s commitment to Nuapada’s development. This strategy positions Rajendra as a bridge between past legacy and present political agenda.

BJD Counters With Historical Legacy and Party Leaders

Meanwhile, BJD has crafted banners to recall Rajendra Dholkia’s contributions under the Naveen Patnaik regime, highlighting his service, commitment, and development initiatives. The banners include legendary leader Biju Pattanaik, Rajendra Dholkia, Naveen Patnaik, and party candidate Snehangini Chhuria.

On BJD posters, Rajendra’s image appears at the top-left corner, alongside Biju Pattanaik, while Naveen Patnaik occupies the right-middle position and Snehangini Chhuria the left-middle. By positioning Rajendra’s image with the legendary leaders, BJD aims to leverage emotional appeal and historical loyalty to sway voters.
