Nuapada, Odisha : Preparations for the Nuapada Assembly by-election have begun following the untimely demise of MLA Rajendra Dholakia (Constituency 71). Officials started the first-level inspection of EVM and VVPAT units stored at the Collector’s office today.
District Collector Madhusudan Dash, Chief Election Officer, Additional Secretary Pramod Kumar Sahu, Deputy Secretary Jitendra Patra, Additional District Collector Subash Chandra Rait, Deputy Collector Surmi Soren, Election Deputy Collector Sheikh Nasim, DC Hemant Puta, BDO Komna Sarveshwar Jal, and Tehsildar Pranab Ranjan Sahu supervised the process.
Representatives from key political parties – BJP, BJD, and AAP – observed the verification to ensure transparency. The first-level audit checks machine functionality and VVPAT units, ensuring smooth polling and building voter confidence.
The by-election will fill the Nuapada Assembly seat vacancy, and officials have stressed adherence to safety protocols and proper polling staff training.
