Talcher, Odisha: NTPC Talcher Thermal celebrated its 51st Raising Day, reaffirming excellence and performance at the TTPS Township. This special occasion marked over five decades of dedicated contribution to India’s power sector. Chief Guest Shri Vijay Chand, Executive Director (Talcher Thermal), led the initiative. Additionally, he was joined by Dr. J. P. Roy, General Manager (Project), Mr. Praveer Kumar, General Manager (Mechanical Erection), and other senior officials of NTPC TTPS.
To begin the day, the celebrations started early at 6 a.m. with a plantation drive, where around 500 saplings were planted across the project campus. This effort underscored NTPC’s commitment to environmental sustainability. After the plantation drive, Shri Vijay Chand hoisted the NTPC flag. Subsequently, the NTPC Geet balloon release and cake cutting followed, celebrating unity and progress. Employees, their families, CISF personnel, and members of the Sagarika Ladies Club participated enthusiastically.
Addressing the gathering, Shri Vijay Chand praised the dedication and spirit of the Talcher Thermal team, calling them the true force behind the station’s progress. Moreover, he emphasized innovation, safety, and teamwork as key drivers of success. With this in mind, he urged everyone to continue strengthening NTPC’s legacy as India’s most trusted energy partner. Finally, the event concluded with a live telecast of the NTPC CMD’s address, focusing on safety, digital innovation, and renewable expansion.
During the NTPC Talcher Thermal 51st Raising Day, the Power-Excel Awards recognized employees for their exceptional contributions and high performance. In addition, the programme ended with a vote of thanks to all participants, marking a memorable and inspiring celebration.
