Bhubaneswar, Odisha : While Biju Janata Dal (BJD) started its statewide Jan Sampark Padayatra from Satyavadi in Puri on 9th October, the Naveen Pattnaik Janasampark Padayatra will gain momentum as the party supremo returns from Delhi to lead the Padayatra on his birthday, 16th October 2025, in Bhubaneswar.
For BJD, 16th October is an emotional date, celebrated as the day of their beloved leader Naveen Patnaik. Naveen will lead the Naveen Pattnaik Janasamparka Padayatra in the Ganganagar area of Bhubaneswar, marking it as an essential part of the statewide activities.
On 9th October, BJD formally flagged off its annual Jan Sampark Padayatra, which will continue until 9th November, covering the entire state. Political observers opine that the event carries both personal and political weight, especially with the emphasis on the Naveen Pattnaik Janasampark Padayatra.
Since the last 24 years, Naveen’s birthday has become a day of mass outreach, connecting the Padayatra with his birthday to strengthen the emotional bond between the party and its leader.
The strategy aims to kick off the movement while reuniting party leaders and workers, sending a strong message of cohesion and momentum.
Political Strategy: Instead of overshadowing the collective launch on 9th October, Naveen allowed party leaders to initiate the movement. His participation in the Naveen Pattnaik Janasampark Padayatra on 16th October now acts as a second boost, drawing renewed attention midway through the programme.
Naveen’s joining amplifies the party’s activities to tackle opposition parties. Moreover, it sends a clear message of public affection for him and the BJD.
BJD leaders will address gatherings and highlight the developments achieved during Naveen’s regime over the last 24 years.
As Naveen joins the Padayatra on his birthday, party workers have made elaborate arrangements for the Naveen Pattnaik Janasampark Padayatra to celebrate the day as special, marking it as a key event in the party’s calendar.
