Talcher, Odisha: NTPC Talcher Thermal came alive with patriotic energy as employees and officials celebrated National Unity Day on October 31, marking the 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel the Iron Man of India. The day honored Patel’s historic role in uniting the nation and promoting integrity among its citizens.
The celebration began with the garlanding of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s statue inside the plant complex, symbolizing respect and remembrance. Executive Director Vijay Chand, along with GM (Project) J.P. Roy, GM (Mechanical Erection) Prabir Kumar, and AGM (HR) Rohit Kumar, led the tributes. Officers and staff from NTPC/TTPS joined the ceremony, adding to the spirit of togetherness.
Later, the “National Unity Day Vow” ceremony was led by Shri Vijay Chand, Head of the Talcher Thermal Project. In his address,
he praised Patel’s visionary leadership and his unparalleled contribution to the unification of India. He also emphasized the importance of harmony, collective responsibility, and national development in building a stronger India.
The event concluded with a renewed pledge to uphold unity and solidarity, aligning with NTPC’s core values and its continued commitment to nation-building. The gathering reflected a deep sense of pride, purpose, and patriotism truly embodying the spirit of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat.”
