Bhopal: In a major push for education and equality, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav on Thursday directly transferred over ₹300 crore into the bank accounts of more than 5.2 million students under the Integrated Scholarship Scheme. This initiative is a significant part of the Student Welfare Scheme aimed at supporting educational development.
The grand event, held at Samatva Bhavan, Bhopal, was attended by School Education Minister Uday Pratap Singh and Tribal Welfare Minister Kunwar Vijay Shah. With just one digital click, CM Yadav released the funds. This marked a powerful step toward inclusive and accessible education across the state.
Addressing students virtually, the Chief Minister emphasized that no child’s dreams should fade due to financial barriers. He said the government’s priority is to make education affordable and equitable for all, especially for those from marginalized backgrounds.
The event was broadcast live to schools in every district. This allowed students and teachers statewide to witness the moment together. District and block-level celebrations also took place, with MLAs and local leaders joining to distribute scholarships. They highlighted the scheme’s impact at the grassroots level.
The Integrated Scholarship Scheme, managed by the School Education Department under the Integrated Social Security Mission, brings together 20 types of scholarships. These are handled by six departments including Scheduled Caste, Tribal, Backward Classes, Minority, and Social Justice Welfare. It benefits students from Class 1 to 12 studying in both government and private schools.
The ₹300 crore distribution covered seven key scholarships, such as the General Poor Class Scholarship, Sudama Pre-Metric, and Swami Vivekananda Post-Metric. It also included assistance for children of retired government employees, fatherless girls, and single daughters.
All applications and transfers were processed through the upgraded Education Portal 3.0, ensuring transparency, accountability, and speed. By merging multiple welfare departments into one unified system, the initiative simplifies access. It sets a new benchmark for student welfare schemes nationwide.
