Mumbai : Actress Mouni Roy delighted fans on Onam by sharing a series of photographs showcasing her South Indian sundari look. She donned a classic white saree with a golden border and a sleeveless blouse, celebrating Kerala’s rich cultural heritage with elegance.
Mouni completed her look with red lipstick, big golden jhumkas, a golden wristwatch, and gajra. She also enjoyed traditional Onam delicacies during the celebrations. Sharing the photos on social media, she wrote: “Happy Onam to all celebrating.“
Several other celebrities also extended their Onam greetings. Allu Arjun wished fans on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “Wishing all Malayalis a joyous Onam! May this festival usher in abundance and tranquility.” Veteran actress Hema Malini posted, “Wishing everyone a very Happy Onam – may you all enjoy good health and prosperity.” Superstar Mohanlal shared a heartfelt video greeting fans worldwide, while Prithviraj Sukumaran posted a photo with his wife Supriya Menon, wearing a traditional mundu and printed T-shirt; Supriya looked elegant in a white saree with a golden border.
Onam honors the legendary Asura King Mahabali, who visits Kerala annually, symbolizing abundance, harmony, and cultural unity. The festival brings families together for the grand Onam Sadhya, traditional dances, music, boat races, and pookalam flower arrangements.
Work-wise, Mouni will appear in David Dhawan’s upcoming drama “Hai Jawani Toh Ishq Hona Hai,” starring Varun Dhawan, Mrunal Thakur, Chunkey Panday, Pooja Hegde, Maniesh Paul, Jimmy Shergill, Rakesh Bedi, Ali Asgar, Kubbra Sait, Rohit Saraf, Rajeev Khandelwal, Nitish Nirmal, and Sreeleela.
