Jharsuguda: In a significant step towards empowering landless families, MLA Tankadhar Tripathy distributed gharabari land pattas to a total of 78 beneficiaries across Kolabira, Laikera, and Kirmira blocks under the state government’s Vasundhara Scheme on Monday.
The distribution program commenced at the Kolabira Block Office, where 26 eligible beneficiaries from the region received official land documents. The event was graced by the MLA as the chief guest, who handed over the pattas personally and remarked, “This is not just land. It is a symbol of dignity, identity, and the right to livelihood for underprivileged families. The Vasundhara Yojana ensures not only land ownership but a secure future.”
Key dignitaries present at the event included District Collector Aboli Sunil Naravane, SP B. Smitha Parama, CDO Bishwaranjan Nayak, BDO Ashok Majhi, Tahasildar M.P. Kujur, Kolabira BJP Mandal President Rajendra Das, and local leaders Sanjay Pujari and Samarendra Ray.
In a similar event held at Sahaspur Gram Panchayat office under Laikera Block, the MLA distributed gharabari pattas to 28 beneficiaries. Additionally, financial assistance of ₹3,500 was provided to senior citizens aged above 80 years.
The Laikera event was attended by Sahaspur Sarpanch Sukanti Jayapuria, BDO George Dungdung, Tahasildar of Laikera, Laikera Mandal President Dutiya Oram, Pakelpada Mandal President Kulamani Kisan, along with Moujilal Dandasena and Tikeshwar Prusty, among others.
The drive continued in Sulahi Panchayat under Kirmira Block, where 24 beneficiaries were handed over their land pattas by the MLA. The program also included the distribution of Construction Worker Cards to labourers and social pensions to elderly citizens.
Present at the Kirmira event were BDO Abinash Lakra, Tahasildar Sandeep Kumar Kullu, Sulahi Panchayat Sarpanch Sangeeta Patel, Kirmira Mandal President Uddhaba Singh Naik, Bijay Sharma, and Jhasaketan Pradhan, along with a large gathering of local residents.
