Mumbai : Veteran actress Meenakshi Seshadri has shared a heartfelt message ahead of Diwali, urging everyone to celebrate the festival of lights with happiness and responsibility. In her message, Meenakshi Seshadri urges safe Diwali celebrations for all.
Meenakshi Seshadri, who is all set to celebrate her second Diwali in Mumbai after returning from the US, took to Instagram and shared a video, expressing her excitement for the festival of lights. She urged her followers to follow safe Diwali practices on social media.
In the clip, she said in Hindi: “Diwali is just around the corner, and I would like to share a small message. Yes, we should celebrate this festival with happiness, but at the same time, stay careful. While bursting crackers, do not give big bombs to small children.”
She added, “Do not light firecrackers in cars, buildings, or any place with a fire risk. If possible, light lamps, candles, etc. I am really looking forward to this Diwali. This will be my second Diwali in Mumbai after returning from the USA. So, prepare for Diwali in advance.”
For the caption, she wrote: “Diwali is around the corner. Waiting in anticipation for this beautiful festival of lights. #diwali #celebrate #festival.” Indeed, Meenakshi Seshadri encourages safe Diwali celebrations for her followers.
Meenakshi rose to prominence as one of Hindi cinema’s leading actresses in the 1980s and 1990s. She debuted with the film Painter Babu in 1983, and her second film, Hero, brought her instant stardom.
She gained fame through films such as Aandhi-Toofan, Meri Jung, Swati, Dacait, Inaam Dus Hazaar, Shahenshah, Awaargi, Ghar Ho To Aisa, Damini, and Ghatak. A documentary about her life, Meenakshi Accept Her Wings, highlights her journey.
Meenakshi was last seen in Ghatak: Lethal (1996), a Hindi-language action thriller directed by Rajkumar Santoshi, starring Sunny Deol, Amrish Puri, and Danny Denzongpa. The film became the highest-grossing Bollywood movie domestically and ranked second worldwide in box office collections that year.
