Boudh, Odisha : A tragic road accident in Luishing Valley near the Boudh-Kandhamal border on Wednesday night claimed the lives of two workers and left over ten others seriously injured. A high-speed truck lost control and collided with a pickup carrying around ten laborers returning home after completing road construction work in the Kandhamal district.
According to preliminary reports, the collision occurred when the truck entered the Luishing Valley and directly hit the pickup. Two workers died on the spot, while eight others sustained severe injuries. All injured workers were immediately rushed to Hospital, where medical teams are providing treatment.
Rescue teams, including the fire department, police, and ambulance services, quickly reached the accident site. The seriously injured were carried to the hospital on stretchers. Authorities have seized both vehicles and begun a detailed investigation into the cause of the accident.
The Luishing Valley area is known for its narrow and winding roads, making it prone to such accidents. Following the incident, the region is witnessing shock and grief among locals. Officials have urged drivers to exercise caution while navigating these roads, especially during the night.
