Bhubaneswar, Odisha : After days of sweltering heat and dry skies, Odisha is set for a monsoon comeback. The Regional Meteorological Centre has forecast the formation of a low-pressure system over the Bay of Bengal on August 13, promising a fresh spell of showers.
A cyclonic circulation currently hovers over Bangladesh, the West Bengal coast, and adjoining north-west Bay of Bengal, gradually tilting southwest. This system is expected to trigger the low-pressure area, unleashing widespread rainfall from August 12 to 14.
The heaviest downpour is likely in southern Odisha, while other regions will also see moderate to heavy rain. The weather office says this will bring much-needed relief from the heatwave-like conditions and rising temperatures that have gripped the state in recent days.
