Kota: A tragic Kota school van SUV collision on Saturday morning claimed the lives of two schoolchildren. It left more than a dozen others injured, sending shockwaves through the district.

The horrific crash took place near the 132 kV grid station in Etawa police station area when a tyre of the school van suddenly burst. Losing control, the driver swerved into the opposite lane. The van crashed head-on into an SUV. The impact was so powerful that both vehicles overturned, scattering school bags and books across the road.

Villagers rushed to the scene, breaking windows to rescue trapped children. This happened before police and emergency teams arrived. Two students were declared dead on arrival at Etawah Sub-District Hospital. Meanwhile, several others with serious injuries were referred to Kota’s MBS Hospital.

Police have seized both vehicles and begun an investigation. The tragic Kota school van SUV collision has reignited public anger over poor road safety and school transport conditions.
