Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Koraput Malkangiri Development Review conducted by Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati focused on the progress of various state and central government schemes. The Governor inspected initiatives related to forest land pattas, Jal Jeevan Mission projects, road construction under Bharatmala, tourism, social welfare, and industrial development in both districts.
The Governor emphasized completing road construction under the Bharatmala project by March 2026, which will reduce travel time between Koraput and Visakhapatnam and improve public accessibility. He also stressed the importance of taking necessary steps for industrial development in Koraput district.
Considering tourism potential, the Governor highlighted the development of Sitakund in Malkangiri and Deomali in Koraput, recognizing them as key tourist destinations in the state. He also reviewed the functioning of banks under social security schemes and instructed them to focus on providing loans to beneficiaries efficiently. He emphasized giving priority to youth and first-time entrepreneurs during loan approvals.
In addition, the Governor held discussions with district collectors, SPs, and departmental officials on the progress of central and state government schemes. He advised officers and staff to implement various programs with dedication, including the Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Odisha Livelihood Mission, Forest Rights Act implementation, Chief Minister’s Agricultural Entrepreneurship Scheme, and other social welfare and developmental initiatives.
The meeting saw participation from Koraput MLAs Raghuram Mach, Ramchandra Kadam (Pattangi), Pavitra Saunta (Laxmipur), Rupu Bhatra (Kotpad), Malkangiri MLA Narsingh Madkami, the Governor’s Commissioner and Secretary Rupa Roshan Sahu, South-Western DG Dr. K.B. Singh, Koraput Collector Manoj Satyavan Mahajan, Malkangiri Collector Somesh Kumar Upadhyay, Koraput SP Rohit Verma, Malkangiri SP Vinod Patil H., and other departmental officers.
Governor Kambhampati emphasized that timely implementation of government schemes will boost social welfare, tourism, infrastructure, and industrial growth, ultimately benefiting residents across Koraput and Malkangiri districts.
