Bhubaneswar, Odisha : On the third day of their Odisha tour, officials from Sri Lanka visited several of the state’s historic landmarks, including the Konark Sun Temple, Dhauli Peace Stupa, and the Ashokan Edicts.
The delegation gained insights into Odisha’s rich art, culture, heritage, and history, appreciating the unique architectural and religious traditions of the region. They expressed delight at observing the harmony between Odisha’s environment, cuisine, Buddhist legacy, and Sri Lanka’s cultural parallels.
During the visit, Sri Lankan officials highlighted that the tour would strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries. The delegation was accompanied by officials from the Ministry of External Affairs, India, the Odisha Information & Public Relations Department, and local tour guides, ensuring an informative and engaging experience.
The cultural tour reflects the ongoing efforts to promote tourism, heritage awareness, and diplomatic ties between India and Sri Lanka, offering a platform for mutual understanding and cooperation.
