Bhubaneswar, Odisha : A joint public grievance hearing at the Gram Panchayat level was conducted today at the Benupur Gram Panchayat office under Balianta block, Khordha district. The session, overseen directly by Khordha Collector Shri Amrit Ruturaj, saw the participation of Jayadev MLA Shri Naba Kishor Mallick, local Zilla Parishad members, Sarpanch, and other senior officials.
A total of 168 grievances were registered during the hearing, including 147 individual complaints and 13 community-related issues. Officers addressed five of these grievances on the spot, while the rest were referred to relevant departments for swift resolution.
During the proceedings, officials patiently listened to the concerns of residents and issued immediate instructions to ensure timely redress. The session emphasized the importance of proactive governance and direct engagement with citizens at the grassroots level.
Several senior officials were present to supervise and assist the proceedings, including ADM Bhubaneswar Shri Rudra Narayan Mohanty, Sub-Collector Dr. Manoranjan Sahu, Zilla Parishad Additional Chief Development Officer Kasturibala Jena, BDO Rashmita Nath, Tahsildar Lilan Prasad Sahoo, and Assistant Collector Bhubaneswari Kanhar. Their presence ensured the grievances were recorded systematically and proper follow-up actions were initiated.
The Khordha Collector praised the proactive participation of local officials and residents, highlighting that such joint grievance hearings are crucial for strengthening transparency, accountability, and trust between citizens and the administration.
This session reflects the administration’s ongoing commitment to addressing public concerns efficiently and demonstrates the effectiveness of collaborative governance at the Panchayat level. Residents were encouraged to actively participate in future grievance hearings and take advantage of such platforms to resolve pressing local issues.
