Bengaluru: The political temperature in Karnataka rose on Thursday. This happened as the BJP accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of behaving like the District Collector of Wayanad in Kerala. The “Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Wayanad Collector BJP” accusation underlines the growing tensions between the parties. Leader of Opposition R. Ashoka led the charge. He alleged that Siddaramaiah puts the Congress high command above Karnataka’s interests.
Ashoka said, “Karnataka doesn’t need a CM who bows to the fake Gandhi family and spends our treasury like it’s their ATM. We elected a Chief Minister of Karnataka, not a puppet of Delhi or a brand ambassador of Wayanad.”
He alleged that Siddaramaiah approved ₹10 crore of Karnataka taxpayers’ money for Wayanad. The Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Wayanad Collector BJP issue has become a focal point of political debate. Furthermore, he gave ₹15 lakh compensation to the family of a man killed by an elephant there.
“Mr. CM, how long will Karnataka tolerate a leader who acts like Wayanad’s District Collector and fundraiser?” Ashoka asked.
The BJP leader accused Siddaramaiah of using the Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation (KSTDC) to promote tourism in Wayanad — the constituency represented by Priyanka Gandhi Vadra while ignoring Karnataka’s farmers and flood victims.
“North Karnataka is drowning. Farmers are suffering. Homes are destroyed. Over 12.5 lakh hectares of crops have been damaged, yet compensation remains stuck in files, excuses, and photo-ops,” Ashoka said.
He questioned Siddaramaiah’s priorities, saying the CM moved money to another state faster than to Karnataka’s disaster-hit regions. Ashoka, addressing the Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Wayanad Collector BJP concerns, demanded that the government release flood relief and compensation immediately to Kalaburagi, Raichur, Yadgir, Bidar, Vijayapura, Bagalkot, and Belagavi.
“Stop looting Karnataka’s money to please the fake Gandhi family. Karnataka first, not Wayanad first,” Ashoka declared.
Political observers believe the clash between the BJP and Congress has intensified. The opposition has turned the “Wayanad Collector” remark into a rallying cry. The Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Wayanad Collector controversy has added fresh heat to Karnataka politics as both parties prepare for upcoming local elections.
