Mumbai : Karisma Kapoor kids, Samaira and Kiaan Kapoor, have filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking a share in their late father Sunjay Kapur’s property. The siblings allege that their father’s third wife, Priya Kapur, tampered with his will to claim the entire estate, prompting the legal battle.
The siblings have accused Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, Priya Kapur, of tampering with his will to claim the entire estate. In their petition, the children requested one-fifth of the property each, asserting they are the legal heirs of Sunjay Kapur.
Through their legal representatives, the children stated that they maintained regular contact with their father via visits, holidays, video and voice calls, and messages, including multiple WhatsApp groups. They also frequently stayed at the Rajokri residence in Delhi, which had designated rooms for each child.
The court documents noted, “The Plaintiffs visited the Rajokri house on numerous occasions, including Diwali, weekends, and holidays. Sunjay Kapur also visited their Mumbai residence. Plaintiff No. 1 (Samaira) visited him in New York during her university years, while he visited her in Boston multiple times.”
Karisma Kapoor and Sunjay Kapur were married for 13 years, from 2003 to 2016, and had two children before their divorce. Sunjay Kapur left behind an estate valued at approximately INR 30,000 crores.
The current dispute centers on a will dated March 21, 2025, granting the entire personal property to Priya Kapur. Samaira and Kiaan allege the will is fraudulent and claim Priya intends to evict them from the property.
Sunjay Kapur passed away at 53 from a heart attack while playing polo in the UK.
