Mumbai : Karisma Kapoor attends Navratri celebrations, making a rare public appearance amid her ongoing legal battle over her late former husband Sunjay Kapur’s property inheritance.
The actress attended Navratri celebrations in the city on Thursday, drawing attention with her elegant presence. She stepped out at the venue in a bright yellow saree, complemented by statement gold jewellery. Flashing her signature smile, she posed for the paparazzi, making the festive outing one of her few recent public sightings.
The legal battle involving her children and former husband Sunjay Kapur’s widow, Priya Sachdev, continues to gain momentum.
Karisma’s children, Samaira Kapoor and Kiaan Kapoor, filed a petition in the Delhi High Court seeking a share in their father’s property.
The children accuse Sunjay Kapur’s third wife, Priya Kapur, of tampering with his will and trying to claim the entire property. In their petition, the siblings demand that the court allocate one-fifth of the property to each of them, asserting their rights as Sunjay Kapur’s legal heirs.
Through their legal representatives, the children claim they maintained regular contact with their father through meetings, visits, stayovers, holidays, video and voice calls, and messages. Multiple WhatsApp groups facilitated these interactions between the late industrialist and his children.
Priya Sachdev alleged that Karisma Kapoor and her children already received assets worth INR 1,900 crore.
However, sources clarified that Priya still controls these assets in the RK family trust, and Karisma’s children have no access to them. Adding to the controversy, Priya’s counsel informed the Court that the so-called will remains unregistered.
The Delhi High Court intervened in the high-profile succession battle, escalating the dispute over late industrialist Sunjay Kapur’s estate, valued at nearly INR 30,000 crore.
