Srinagar: In a powerful move against digital extremism, J&K Police raids social media abuse case across five districts of Kashmir, targeting people who use online platforms to spread anti-national messages.
On Sunday, the Counter-Intelligence wing of the J&K Police carried out simultaneous raids in Pulwama, Shopian, Srinagar, Baramulla, and Kulgam after receiving credible inputs about social media misuse that could disrupt public peace.
The Counter-Intelligence Kashmir (CIK) teams, supported by local police, searched several homes and business establishments linked to online abuse networks. They seized mobile phones, laptops, and storage devices for forensic analysis.
“We launched the operation early in the morning to track individuals spreading hateful and anti-national content,” officials said. “Several suspects are now under questioning.”
The crackdown aims to identify people who use digital platforms to incite communal tension, glorify militancy, or issue threats to civilians and security personnel.
The J&K Police raids social media abuse case also highlight the force’s larger mission to tackle digital radicalization, hawala transactions, and narco-terror networks that fund terrorism in the Valley.
Officials confirmed that the CIK continues to monitor suspects and gather evidence for follow-up raids. With tighter control over online activities, Jammu and Kashmir Police push forward their mission to ensure peace, security, and responsible digital use in the Union Territory.
