Jharsuguda Truck Theft Suspects Nabbed by Jharsuguda Police

Stolen truck worth ₹10 lakh recovered from Raipur; Jharsuguda Sadar Police nab culprits through CCTV and CDR analysis under Operation Netra.

Jharsuguda, Odisha : Jharsuguda Sadar Police have successfully cracked a major truck theft case under Operation Netra, leading to the arrest of three accused and recovery of a stolen vehicle worth ₹10 lakh. The swift action came after a complaint was filed by truck owner Sanjay Kumar Yadav (40), son of Jogindra Singh of Dipupada, Jharsuguda, on September 20, 2025.

According to the FIR (Jharsuguda Sadar P.S. Case No. 394 dated 20.09.2025 u/s 305(b)/3(5) BNS), Yadav reported that his truck, bearing registration number OR 21A 0277, was stolen on the night of September 19/20.09.2025 while parked near the Reliance Petrol Pump on SH-10 at Beherapat, Jharsuguda.

Acting on the complaint, Jharsuguda SP G. Reddy Raghevendra directed a dedicated team under the supervision of the IIC, Sadar PS. Using Call Detail Record (CDR) analysis and CCTV surveillance, the police traced the stolen vehicle to Raipur, Chhattisgarh. Subsequently, the truck was seized and brought back to Jharsuguda.

Police arrested the following individuals in connection with the theft :

  • Vikash Yadav (27), S/o Mahesh Kumar Yadav of Dipupada, Jharsuguda.
  • Amarjeet Kumar (25), S/o Suresh Kumar of Baktari, Kalpi PS, Arubal, Bihar.
  • Ramesh Kumar (40), S/o Suresh Yadav of Choupada, Ghasi PS, Jahanabad, Bihar.

The trio was forwarded to the court of SDJM, Jharsuguda on Sunday.

Seizure Details :

  • Truck bearing Regd. No. OR 21A 0277 (Value: ₹10 lakh).

Police sources said the case reflects the strong surveillance mechanism being implemented under Operation Netra, which focuses on the swift detection of property-related crimes in Jharsuguda district.
