With cases of mobile theft rising across the district, SP Raghavendra had earlier directed all police stations. They needed to compile reports on pending theft cases and intensify recovery efforts. Acting on his instructions, officers successfully traced and retrieved 101 stolen phones.

Some beneficiaries received their devices during the event. Others who couldn’t attend will soon be contacted for collection, SP Raghavendra informed.

Emphasizing cyber safety, the SP urged citizens to stay alert against the misuse of SIM cards obtained through fake documents. He advised the public to verify active SIMs linked to their IDs through the Sanchar Saathi app and block unauthorized numbers when necessary.

He further added that in cases of lost or stolen devices, users should promptly lodge a complaint at the nearest police station. They should also register details on the CEIR portal (https://ceir.gov.in) to track their phones efficiently.

The event also saw the presence of Additional SP Madhusikta Mishra, James Samad, Jharsuguda SDPO Uma Shankar Singh, and Brajrajnagar SDPO Chintamani Pradhan. Officers from various police stations attended, underscoring the police department’s commitment to smart policing and digital accountability.
