Brajrajnagar, Jharsuguda, Odisha : Today Brajrajnagar police have arrested a six-member drug trafficking gang from the OPM School ground area. The accused were caught red-handed while packing narcotics for distribution.
During the raid, police seized 32 grams of brown sugar, several Pentazocine lactate injections, 5 disposable syringes, 15 strips of Nitrazepam tablets, and ₹2,000 in cash. The total market value of the seized contraband is estimated to be over ₹10 lakh.
The arrested have been identified as Vijay Agrawal, Vijay Saha, Umesh Chauhan, Pustom Banchhor, Karan Kalet, and Amit Sondh, all residents of Brajrajnagar area. According to police, the gang specifically targeted youth, pushing them into drug addiction.
Before they could transport the consignment, the accused were nabbed in the middle of packaging operations on the school premises. Following the arrest, they have been produced in court.
