Jharsuguda, Odisha : The district-level Guru Diwas celebrations and the Chief Minister’s Education Awards ceremony were held today at the DMF Conference Hall, Jharsuguda. The event recognised the dedication and role of teachers in shaping students and building a responsible society.
MLA Tankadhar Tripathy, the chief guest, lauded the teachers for their invaluable contribution in nurturing students. He highlighted that teachers play a vital role not only in education but also in fostering a strong and moral society.
During the ceremony, 12 teachers from Jharsuguda district, including seven secondary and five primary educators, along with one CRCC, were awarded the Chief Minister’s Education Awards. The awardees were Debesh Urma, Giridhari Patel, Rinki Mahanand, Parmeshwar Patel, Sulochana Patel, CRCC Yadumani Pradhan, Pratwa Mahapatra, Kush Sha., Tanmay Garnayak, Purnachandra Sahu, Jitendra Kansarali, Ajit Bhoy, and Jitendra Nath. They received trophies and certificates in recognition of their outstanding service.
MLA Tripathy also announced that from next year, a new category of MLA Teacher Awards will be introduced. As part of this initiative, five teachers will receive a cash prize of ₹20,000 each.
The event was graced by several dignitaries, including District Collector Kunal Motiram Chavan, ABDO Pradeepta Sha, Ravi Narayan Majhi, Lakhanpur BEO, Rajendra Sahu, Jharsuguda BEO Anil Patel, and Jitendra Majhi, who attended as honoured guests.
Teachers, staff, and educators from across the district participated, making the ceremony a grand celebration of educational excellence. The event also emphasized the significance of mentorship, with officials encouraging teachers to guide students in realizing their potential and dreams.
The celebrations reflect the Odisha government’s commitment to recognising educational contributions and promoting quality teaching practices across the state.
