Jharsuguda, Odisha : A press conference was held at Meghdoot Hotel, by the Sambalpuri Language, Literature and Culture Forum to announce the upcoming celebration of Sambalpuri Day on August 1, commemorating the birth anniversary of Guru Satya Narayan Bohidar, revered as the pioneer of the Sambalpuri language movement.
For the past two years, the Forum has been proudly commemorating this day, and 2025’s edition promises to be a cultural extravaganza like never before.
The day will begin at 9:00 AM with a ritual puja at the Kanak Durga Temple near Railway Station Square, followed by a colorful cultural procession leading to the MCL Auditorium, where a full slate of events will unfold throughout the day and into the evening.

- Mesmerizing Folk Dance & Song Performances
- Vibrant Rangoli Competition
- Cultural presentations by school and college students
- Local talent and celebrated artists taking center stage
The cultural evening will witness electrifying performances by renowned Sambalpuri singer Shashwat Tripathy, melodious vocalist Tapaswini Das, and the ever-popular Humorist Poet Man Master.
Adding to the prestige of the event, Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will inaugurate the celebration. Other esteemed guests confirmed to attend include:

Presided over by Forum Convenor Subrat Tripathy, the press meet saw participation from prominent personalities like Manoranjan Mahapatra, Bimalendu Bhol, and Bijay Behera.
