Jharsuguda , Odisha : Jharsuguda crime news : In a major breakthrough under Operation Netra, Jharsuguda police arrested veteran criminal Radhe @ Radheshyam Namdeo (38) from Shastrinagar. Radhe, wanted in multiple cases, had been creating fear in the locality and evading arrest for years. He was immediately forwarded to the court in connection with Orient PS Case No. 35 dated 18.02.24 under sections 341/294/323/324/326/307/427/506 IPC.
Radhe hails from Poudisankar, PS-Bamunidihi, District Jajgir Champa (Chhattisgarh), and had been residing at Jhupudipada, Shastrinagar, PS-Orient, Jharsuguda. During the raid, police recovered a 24 cm steel sharp-edged knife, identified as the weapon of offence.
Radhe has an extensive criminal past record including 34 cases registered under multiple sections of the IPC and SC/ST (PoA) Act. These include theft, assault, attempt to murder, and intimidation charges across Orient and Brajrajnagar police jurisdictions. Several cases also involve land and property disputes, with accusations of fraud and illegal possession.
Residents of Jharsuguda had long complained about his criminal activities, expressing fear over his repeated threats and attacks. Police officials confirmed that his arrest would restore peace in the area and serve as a warning to other habitual offenders.
Orient Police, under the direction of SP Jharsuguda, conducted the operation meticulously, ensuring minimal risk during the arrest. The arrest also underscores the effectiveness of Operation Netra, aimed at capturing repeat offenders and ensuring public safety.
Authorities have stated that further investigations are ongoing, and police may file additional charges based on prior complaints and pending cases. The swift action reflects Jharsuguda Police’s commitment to maintaining law and order, protecting citizens, and tackling criminal networks actively.
