Mumbai : The Huma Qureshi cousin murder occurred late Thursday night in Delhi’s Nizamuddin area, when her cousin Asif Qureshi was killed following a parking dispute.
The incident occurred at Jangpura Bhogal Bazaar Lane, under the Nizamuddin police station, between 11 PM and 12 AM.
According to reports, Asif Qureshi parked his scooter near a gate. When residents asked him to move it to the side, an altercation broke out. The dispute escalated, and assailants attacked Asif with a sharp weapon, killing him on the spot.
Huma Qureshi and her brother, actor Saqib Saleem, have not yet commented on the tragic incident.
Huma made her film debut in the 2012 crime drama “Gangs of Wasseypur” and later appeared in Ek Thi Daayan, Dedh Ishqiya, Badlapur, Jolly LLB 2, and the Tamil action drama Kaala.
She starred in the dystopian drama series Leila (2019) and has received critical acclaim for her lead role in the crime drama series Maharani since 2021. Internationally, she appeared in Army of the Dead, the Tamil action thriller Valimai, and the crime comedy Monica, O My Darling.
Huma will next appear in “Bayaan”, a police procedural drama directed by Bikas Ranjan Mishra. She plays Roohi, a female detective investigating her first case against a prominent cult leader while confronting institutional power and reluctant witnesses. The film has been selected in the Discovery section of the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival and will premiere in September 2025.
She will also star in “Jolly LLB 3”, directed by Subhash Kapoor, alongside Akshay Kumar, Arshad Warsi, Amrita Rao, Huma Qureshi, Saurabh Shukla, and Annu Kapoor.
