Bhubaneswar : The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a yellow warning for heavy rainfall across 15 districts of Odisha over the next 24 hours. The alert covers both western and coastal regions, indicating a significant weather event across half of the state.
Districts Under Alert:
Bargarh, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Sundargarh, Deogarh, Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Angul, Dhenkanal, Balasore, Bhadrak, Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, and Cuttack.
The IMD has forecast heavy to very heavy rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning in several parts. Winds may gust at speeds of 30 to 35 km/h, potentially disrupting normal life.
A cyclonic circulation remains active over South Bangladesh and adjoining regions, triggering widespread rainfall over Odisha and surrounding states.
Authorities in Bhadrak district have already declared a holiday for all schools on Wednesday, citing safety concerns due to the forecast.
Citizens in the alerted districts are advised to:

- Stay indoors during thunderstorms.
