Talcher, Odisha : A formal claim has been submitted to the Sub-Collector’s office by young social worker Sulekhe Sethi. The claim highlights the severe irregularities and mismanagement of the Handidhua Underpass road under the Talcher Muncipality.
The claim points out that the condition of the Handidhua Railway Underpass road has turned deplorable. This causes immense difficulty for daily commuters. Every day, hundreds of pedestrians, buses, cars, motorcycles, and bicycles use this vital route. It connects Pabitra Mohan Medical College, coal mining zones, the railway station, and Angul district headquarters.
However, the road remains filled with potholes and waterlogged areas throughout the year. This makes travel extremely unsafe. Frequent minor and major accidents have become a daily concern. Despite repeated applications and complaints submitted to the concerned authorities, neither the railway officials nor the administrative officers have taken any corrective action so far.
The negligence has now pushed the local residents to the edge, as the poor road condition continues to affect public life and transport severely. The claim further warns that if the issue remains unresolved, locals may soon resort to peaceful agitation. They aim to press their demands for immediate repair and maintenance of the underpass road.
