Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Utkal University Alumni Association hosted its 5th Annual Gathering at the MKCG Auditorium, Vanivihar. Notably, Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati attended as the chief guest. In his address, he urged alumni to treat education as a shared responsibility and to apply their knowledge to advance society while building a compassionate social environment.

The Governor highlighted that education goes beyond personal achievement. Moreover, it serves as a lifelong duty to enlighten and transform society. He praised Utkal University for shaping leaders and providing a beacon of knowledge for over eight decades.

Alumni have played pivotal roles in politics, governance, science, education, literature, law, culture, business, and daily life. Consequently, they represent the university’s values both nationally and internationally.

Governor Kambhampati applauded the Alumni Association for guiding youth, promoting academic excellence, and supporting the “Green and Healthy Campus” initiative. He encouraged alumni to give back to their alma mater through these meaningful actions.

Furthermore, he stated that university life offers more than academics—it provides a journey of self-discovery, value-building, and preparation for a purposeful life.

Advocate General Pitambar Acharya delivered the keynote address, sharing memories of Utkal University’s proud history and traditions. He also highlighted the alumni’s contributions to the state as well as the nation.

Vice-Chancellor Yajneshwar Dandapat emphasized that active alumni collaboration will help the university achieve its development goals.

Alumni Association President Dr. Satyajit Mahanti welcomed attendees and outlined the association’s mission and activities. Editor Devendra Prasad Dash shared plans to expand the association’s outreach so that it can increase engagement in the coming years.

During the event, organizers unveiled the commemorative publication “Utkalayan” and felicitated winners of various alumni competitions.

Governor Kambhampati concluded by encouraging alumni to mentor younger generations, strengthen the university’s legacy, and actively serve society. He expressed hope that alumni would continue to support Utkal University as a center of excellence, character development, and inspiration for future generations.
