Bhubaneswar, Odisha : Odisha Governor Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati conducted an extensive tour of Koraput district on the second day of his visit, inspecting prominent educational and development institutions including Odisha Central University, Sunabeda Hall, Rajput Millet Processing Unit, Deomali, and Pungar Eklavya Adarsh Residential School. During the tour, the Governor engaged with departmental officers, staff, and beneficiaries to review progress in institutional and regional development initiatives.
At Odisha Central University, Governor Kambhampati reviewed various development programs and academic activities. He held discussions with the university’s faculty and students, emphasizing the importance of quality education and the need for highly trained teachers to inspire and guide learners. The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Narsingh Charan Panda, Registrar Dr. Rakesh Kumar Lenka, senior faculty, and university officials welcomed the Governor and presented detailed reports on the university’s developmental projects and future plans.
The Governor underscored that achieving quality education hinges on competent and well-trained educators, who play a pivotal role in motivating students and enhancing learning outcomes. He also advised university authorities to identify and address challenges, including reduced enrollment, to ensure institutional progress. The Governor expressed satisfaction with ongoing initiatives and appreciated newly launched programs that align with future needs.
During his tour, Governor Kambhampati also inspected Sunabeda-based Sukhoi Engine Factory and held discussions with officials in the hall auditorium. He then visited the Rajput Millet Processing Unit in Semiliguda block, interacting with local women’s groups to understand the preparation and sale of various food products. Legislators including Raghu Ram Machh, Pavitra Saunta, and Rupu Bhatra, along with Koraput Collector Manoj Satyavan Mahajan, SP Rohit Verma, and other officials, accompanied the Governor during the inspection.
The Governor further visited Deomali tourist site, reviewing ongoing development initiatives and assessing additional requirements in consultation with Koraput district officials and forest authorities. His visit concluded at Pungar Eklavya Adarsh Residential School, where he observed development stalls presented by various departments and engaged with students, teachers, and parents. He also held discussions with women’s group members and local stakeholders to understand community participation in education and development projects.
The Governor returned to Koraput after the visits, holding follow-up discussions with his commissioner, Secretary of Governance Rupa Roshan Sahu, the Koraput Collector, and other officials. His visit highlights the state administration’s commitment to improving educational standards, promoting regional development, and ensuring active community involvement in institutional growth.
