Bhubaneswar, Aug 26, 2025
Following the directions of Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, the deadline for applying to the Gopabandhu Journalist Health Insurance Scheme has been extended. Earlier, the last date was August 25, but considering requests from journalists, the government has now extended it to August 30.
Under this scheme, working journalists and their families receive cashless medical treatment up to ₹5 lakh in various empanelled hospitals across the state. The initiative provides a crucial safety net for many journalists and their dependents.
For the current year, both new applicants and renewal cases are being accepted through the online application system. Interested journalists can apply at the official portal: www.owjws.odisha.gov.in
The scheme continues to strengthen the state’s commitment to the welfare of journalists by ensuring accessible healthcare coverage.
