Talcher, Odisha : Talcher city is surrounded by railway lines of NTPC, MCL, and Coal Washery. As a result, commuters often stand on the roads. Trains move continuously, whether in heat, rain, or cold. Ambulances, fire department vehicles, and students going to school also have to wait for a long time. This highlights the impact of Ghantapada Overbridge Construction Delays.

Although these companies earn substantial revenue from the area, the question arises as to why they do not notice the problems of the people. The railway crossing system that existed before the train lines still operates at Talbeda Bankadhara Chowk, Hata Tota Main Road, Remuan, Shanibar Hata (Market) under Talcher block, Bantol Road, Handi Dhua Chowk Road, Tentulei, Ghantapada Road, and Bikrampur Road. However, ongoing delays in the Ghantapada Overbridge construction worsen these issues.

After repeated protests and complaints, authorities constructed an overbridge on National Highway No. 149 at Chainpal. Similarly, workers have been constructing the bridge on the Talcher Block-Ghantapada railway line for about 10 years. However, no one can say when they will complete it. The contractor has finished 80 percent of the work, yet 20 percent still remains. Observers now wait to see how many more days the contractor will take to complete this 20 percent work.

It is important to note that this road provides an easy and short route from Talcher city to Angul district office. Thousands of people use it every day for office work, medical purposes, and other essential travel. Therefore, various quarters have repeatedly demanded the bridge’s urgent completion.

Similarly, volunteers and social service organizations have repeatedly informed the Angul District Magistrate and Talcher Deputy Magistrate about the ongoing bridge construction over the railway line in Hatatota, Talcher city. However, they have not found a solution yet.

Therefore, as Talcher residents continue to travel on this busy road, they demand that authorities complete the Ghantapada Overbridge immediately.
