Bhubaneswar : In the wake of severe flooding across parts of Odisha, Revenue and Disaster Management Minister Suresh Pujari on Monday assured that relief assistance will reach affected people within 24 hours of receiving the damage report.
The Minister stated that cooked meals are being provided at all relief centres, with strict instructions issued to district collectors to ensure no disruption in food supply as long as people remain sheltered.
With water levels receding in most rivers, attention has now shifted to draining floodwaters from low-lying areas, which officials say will take time. The state government remains on high alert to respond to any emerging challenges.
Meanwhile, if weather conditions remain favourable, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi is expected to undertake an aerial survey of the flood-affected regions on Tuesday, to assess the ground situation and expedite further response measures.
