Chhatrapur, Odisha : A major fire broke out on Friday morning at the Chhatrapur Bypass, completely destroying a container loaded with scooters. The blaze gutted more than 30 scooters being transported to Andhra Pradesh, causing losses worth several lakhs of rupees.
According to sources, the container was en route to Andhra Pradesh when flames suddenly erupted near the bypass overbridge. The fire spread rapidly, engulfing the entire vehicle within minutes.
Fire brigade teams rushed to the spot upon receiving the alert and battled the flames for an extended period. Despite their efforts, all the scooters inside were reduced to ashes. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
The exact cause of the fire remains under investigation, though officials suspect a technical fault or short circuit. Such incidents are not unprecedented—transport containers carrying vehicles have caught fire in the past due to similar malfunctions.
