Boudh, Odisha : The Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) in Boudh organized a district-level Farmers’ Producer Training Camp at the Jalchhaya Mission Training Hall. The aim was to strengthen farmers’ knowledge and connect them with new agricultural opportunities.
Dr. Tapan Kumar Das, Senior Scientist of KVK, led the event. Meanwhile, Dr. Rama Rao Palo, Chief District Veterinary Officer, encouraged farmers to take advantage of government schemes that can boost their income and productivity.
Jyotiranjan Sethi (District Mission Shakti Coordinator), Yogeshwar Bishoi (DIC GM), Ranjit Kumar Das (Onion Research Centre), and Puja Barik (Block Horticulture Officer) guided participants. They explained how to collaborate with government departments and enhance horticulture and allied activities.
Experts from the Agriculture, Fisheries, and Marketing departments Baijayanti Pradhan, Droupadi Majhi, Deepak Mahapatra, Amarnath Pradhan, and Bighnajeet Mahakud explained how to access state programs. They also discussed new market linkages.
Farmers and FPO members such as Asman Mahakud, Sitakant Sahu, Jyotiranjan Pradhan, Kruttibas Palia, and Sabyasachi Karna shared innovative ideas. They focused on collective production, new marketing strategies, and advanced technologies to improve profitability.
Dr. Mayuri Singh Sardar, Trinath Sahu, and other KVK officials supported the program. They provided practical training and demonstrations.
Samapika Dalei, Agricultural Scientist, closed the event by thanking all participants. She highlighted how such workshops help farmers transform their knowledge into real-world success.
The training strengthened the region’s farmers’ producer organizations (FPOs). It encouraged low-income farmers to embrace technology, plan agribusinesses, and explore wider markets for better livelihoods.
