Bhubaneswar, Odisha : The Odisha Agriculture Department has directed its officers to undertake regular field visits to ensure effective implementation of government agricultural schemes. Principal Secretary Dr. Arabinda Kumar Padhee issued the notification, emphasizing direct interaction with farmers and frontline workers to identify challenges and improve program delivery.
Senior officers, including the Director, Additional Director, Joint Director, Deputy Director, and scheme officers, will visit districts and blocks to observe ground realities. They will assess ongoing programs, interact with farmers, and submit brief reports of their visits to the Principal Secretary within a week.
Heads of Directorates have been instructed to prepare monthly tour calendars covering all districts, with special focus on aspirational and vulnerable areas. This initiative aims to ensure systematic monitoring and timely resolution of field-level issues, enhancing accountability and efficiency.
Dr. Padhee highlighted that active engagement with farmers is crucial for the success of government schemes. “Understanding challenges on the ground and ensuring effective implementation is key to strengthening the agriculture sector and supporting our farmers,” he said.
This field visit program is expected to improve coordination between officials and farmers, making scheme delivery more responsive and farmer-centric. By observing, evaluating, and addressing issues directly, the department aims to create a transparent, efficient, and people-oriented system that benefits the farming community across Odisha.
